Things like platforms that fall, one tile wide platforms, the maze in 5-3 and more would need to be totally reworked. I havent done any of the coding groundwork for it, since I didnt anticipate needing to have two players. The behaviours of bosses and some enemies arent set up to accommodate more than one player. It would lag. 6. It would likely be buggy and require months of testing. It wouldnt be as good as youre imagining. There are experiments that add another player to old games (like SMW and SM64) and theyre easy to get started, and kind of cool as a curiosity, but require extensive reworking of the games to get them functioning like youd expect from a real game designed for two players.
